Barbeque Pork Sandwich

Preparation

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup basil pesto
  • 2 onions 
  • 1 tbsp butter 
  • 400 g pork shoulder
  • 4 sheets gouda cheese slices 
  • 1 baguette
  • ½ cup barbeque sauce (any barbeque sauce you can get from the supermarket)

Sauce for the meat

  • 10g minced rosemary
  • 15g minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 
  • a little bit of salt and pepper

Method

Melt the butter in a hot pan over medium heat and stir the chopped onion to prevent it from burning. (approximately 20 minutes)

Mix the rosemary, garlic, olive oil, and seasoning with the meat and marinate it for about 30 minutes.

Grill marinated meat in a pan over medium heat. (approximately 5 minutes)

Cut baguettes in half so that you can make sandwiches.

Spread pesto evenly on one side and top with grilled meat, slice cheese, and onion jam.

Wrap the entire baguette sandwich in foil and bake in a 180-degree oven for 5 minutes to complete.
