Prep Time:  15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Serves: 6

  • 500 grams Beef Striploin, thinly sliced
  • 72 grams (4 tbsp) Oyster Sauce
  • 54 grams (3 tbsp) Soy Sauce
  • 8 pcs Calamansi or 2 Lemons, juiced (about 60ml)
  • Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
  • 35 grams (2 tbsp) Fish Sauce or to taste
  • 5 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 pcs Red or Yellow Onions, sliced into rings
  • 54 grams (3 tbsp) Cooking Oil
  • 237ml (1/2 cup) Water or as needed

In a large bowl, combine beef, oyster sauce, soy sauce, calamansi juice, pepper and minced garlic. Massage and marinate for at least 1 hour. Note: marinate overnight for best result.

In a pan over medium-high heat, heat oil. Sauté onions and garlic, remove and set aside.

Remove the beef from the marinade, squeezing out the excess liquid. Cook the beef for 1 to 4 minutes each side or until lightly browned.

Add the marinade sauce and water then bring it to a boil.

Cover and simmer it over low heat until meat is fork-tender and sauce is reduced. Season with fish sauce and pepper to taste.

Turn off the cooker and top it with onion rings. Cover to allow onions to cook slightly in the steam.

Serve while it’s hot with rice and enjoy!
