Grilled Spicy Pork Jowl Skewers

Preparation

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1kg pork jowl, cubed about 1 ½ inch thick

Marinade

  • 180ml soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce 
  • 1 head garlic, crushed
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

In a bowl, mix together the marinade ingredients.

Place the pork jowl and the marinade in a large resealable bag and marinate for at least 3 hours in the fridge.

Preheat the grill to medium heat.

Place the pork cubes onto skewers and set aside for the grill.

In a saucepan, place the remaining marinade and mix with ½ cup water.

Bring to boil for 10 minutes. Set aside.

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 8 minutes per side.

Brush the cooked marinade onto the pork 2 minutes before they are done.

Serve with cooked rice or pita.
