Pork Jowl Bacon Pasta

Preparation

Prep Time:  20 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of Jowl Bacon, chopped into bits
  • 500g packaged pasta of your choice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 250ml cream
  • 128g parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp dried basil/oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

In a pot, cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. Make sure you cook it al dente and set aside.

In a large saucepan, pan fry the jowl bacon bits until crispy, set aside.

In the same saucepan, saute the garlic and onion in the jowl bacon’s leftover oil. (Add the olive oil if needed)

Add the cooked pasta and cream. Season with basil/oregano, salt and pepper.

Turn off the heat and add the parmesan and bacon bits. Toss.

Serve immediately.
